a large network marketing organization
- the kind that grows bigger each month and is filled
with enthusiastic and motivated people... then sales
people need to turn off their closing skills off, open
both ears and your heart to hear what others say and
want to buy, and present yourself and your business
professionally and always with integrity.
Ask questions throughout
your presentation
to determine if they are with you. Ask questions that
put them in the picture.
Ask them what would make them interested in your
business... and then let them start selling you
on all the reasons they need more income and the real
motivators that create desire for change that
motivates all out daily actions... and now you are on
your way to becoming a legend in our business.
-
Always
recommend and do what is in the prospect's best
interest...
-
Ask questions that have them selling you their
wants...
-
listen
twice as much as you speak...
-
stop selling
and start
sharing...
The true Master
Networkers are not closers...
they are problem solvers.
Discover
peoples' real wants, needs and desires and them show
them how your business opportunity could be the answer
they have been searching for.
Make
the decision that you will only sponsor people who are
motivated for their own reasons, and
never for yours.
And
remember this thought daily: The
more you can contribute or add value in people's
lives... the greater is your value which in
turn makes greater every area of your life.
AMATEURS CONVINCE - PROFESSIONALS
SORT
It
continually amazes me how many people I meet who
come into network marketing with a strong direct
sales background. Most unfortunately are doomed to
fail unless they are willing to stop "selling" long
enough to read or hear these words and understand
the gifts in their message.
1)
They have to be teachable
2)
they will need to forget everything they learned
about "closing".
Only
if they are willing to do these two fundamental
things will you be able to work with these
individuals successfully.
So how have you
been building your business?
Are you wasting your time, as
well as theirs by becoming a great convincer of
people who join your business after your 6th close,
and then never seem to be home every time you call
to find out why they're not "convincing" others to
join? They never place an order after the first
one? What's wrong with these people?
Do they expect you to do everything?
No... they just have no desire to do
to their friends what you did to them by "closing"
the sale when you signed them up. We are not
in direct sales, and we should never attempt to
pressure or "close" our prospects on joining our
business.
If you regularly use powerful
direct sales closing techniques you will sign lots
of people initially, but they will drop off like
flies just as fast as you bring new ones on. This is
difficult for professional sales people to
understand initially, but it is extremely important
that you understand the following statement:
If you seriously want to build a
large and continually growing global distribution
team to earn a ton of money off of, then you will
need to stop closing people on the business,
and start inviting
them to join.
Even saying "I closed him or her"
indicates the forced changing of another person's
intent, or convincing them into buy or do doing
something they really had no desire to buy or do in
the first place.
Is it any wonder these people
never use your help on 3way calls or invite you over
to the house so you can "close" their friends into
joining your business? They're afraid they
might lose the respect of their friends.
Reminds me of a saying I heard at a
small training meeting over 20 years ago. If I
remembered it correctly I would certainly suggest
that this saying is timeless and is as true today as
it was on the day I first heard it spoken. It goes
like this:
"A man convinced
against his will... is of the same opinion still."
Makes good sense to
me... how do you feel about this
statement?
Your right to build a massively huge
network market is directly related to that one silly
sentence. Why would I suggest this?
Because until you learn to stop
using sales closing techniques to turn every "no"
into a "yes" and in the process leaving a trail of
dead distributors every place you go, you will never
have high-level success in our business.
Trust me, there are thousands... no,
hundreds of thousands... possibly even millions of
unmotivated or skeptical people in this country who
do not want to... have absolutely zero desire to...
and who I would never even suggest that they should
join a network marketing program.
So you need to understand that our
business and our opportunity is not for everybody.
It was never intended to be... never were and never
will be for everyone. And that's OK., it's actually
great news for all people in network marketing.
Because almost every direct sales, network
marketing or MLM company in the U.S.A. is subject to
rules, regulations and even laws in certain states
requiring distributors to have a few retail
customers who are not distributors.
You're bummed, your
group for some reason just doesn't seem to be
duplicating and you need to be out recruiting every
day because nobody on your team is getting out of
bed in the morning... you burn out eventually, and
then you quit. Forever.
That is until your friend calls to
tell you about the next "greatest opportunity in the
world" business presentation. You go to the meeting,
check out a new website or you get in on a "private"
leaders only conference call... and before you know
it there's pens flying through the air, wallet's are
out, big dreams start coming back and you've already
used up 2 napkins just imagining all the people that
you can convince to see this opportunity as quickly
and as clearly as you did today.
The only problem is the one word in
that last sentence that got you all messed up in the
first program. Did you catch it? The word "convince"
does not belong in our business. And until you
understand how significant this section is to your
success in our industry... I know that many will
argue with this school of thought, but my last sales
team had close to 8,000 people nationwide after
only 15 weeks. And while building this sales team
there were numerous times when new distributors
would personally call me and ask me if I would help
them by closing one of their prospects on a 3 way
phone call.
To the shock and surprise of one, I
immediately responded with a firm "NO, I completely
refuse to do that to your friend for any reason".
After pausing a few seconds, I continued to explain
my reasoning like this: I refuse to any method at
all to convince someone to act against their will,
common sense or better judgment.
First of all understand that the
people who are supposed to join your business will
see it quickly. They will "get it" and will
ask you to sign them up.
I refuse to close your friend on a 3
way call... but I will be happy to spend a few
minutes of my time "sharing" with them what I
know to be true about this company and it's offering
and can also share a few examples of success others
on my team are already enjoying financially and in
other ways...
you could hear the sigh of relief
come through the phone as the light turned on and we
dialed his friend who was very interested and made
his own decision to join after hearing new
information from a 3rd party source.
So the moral to this story is that if
you want to build a large network marketing
organization - the kind that grows bigger each
month, filled with enthusiastic and motivated
people... then turn your closing skills off,
open both ears and your heart to what other say and
want, and present yourself and your offering
honestly and invite them to join your team.
The true Masters in our business are not closers...
they are problem solvers.
Ask questions throughout
your presentation to determine if they are with you,
and others that put them in the picture. Ask them
what would make them interested in your business...
and then let them start selling you on all the
reasons they need more income and the real
motivators that create desire for change that
motivates all out daily actions... and now you are
on your way to becoming a legend in our business.
When you learn to stop
selling and start sharing...
invite rather than to close, to listen twice as
much as you speak, learn the right questions that
get them selling you on why they should get started,
and to always recommend and do what is in the
prospect's best interest instead of trying to sell
them because you need a sale or the commission, or a
bonus or any other reason that is yours and not
theirs.
Discover peoples' real wants,
needs and desires and them show them how your
business offering can be the answer they have been
searching for. Make the decision that you will only
sponsor people who are motivated for their own
reasons, and never for yours. And remember through
every day that: The more people's lives you add
value to... the greater are your rewards in all
aspects of your life.
